AI Playground Tutorial
A 15-minute screen recording by University IT of the Stanford AI Playground at aiplayground.stanford.edu, the free Stanford-run workspace where anyone with a SUNet ID can try OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta and DeepSeek models. A tour of the screen first: the conversation list, the prompt box, the model menu, and the right-hand sidebar with saved prompts, memories, model parameters, uploaded files and bookmarks. Then the features in use: turning on web search so an older model answers a current question with sources, comparing two models side by side in one conversation, a temporary chat that is not kept, and attaching files as an image, as text, or for file search, ending with three uploaded incident documents turned into an executive summary with root cause and timeline. Watch it before your first session in the Playground; the auto-generated transcript is searchable, so a search that matches a moment opens the video at that point.
