For developers: send a first messages.create request, choose a model by running a small evaluation, build the agent loop by hand and then with the SDK's Tool Runner, add tool use, extended thinking, built-in tools, Skills and MCP servers, manage context for long-running agents, and build a managed agent end to end. Thirteen lessons, about 1.5 hours; every lesson ends with runnable TypeScript. Free; the examples need an API key and a little prepaid credit (at Stanford, request a key for the AI API Gateway).
