OpenAI: AI Foundations path
OpenAI Academy's own three-course progression, about four hours in all, each with a completion certificate. AI Foundations builds the habits (clear instructions, context, review, responsible use) on a task you already do; Applied AI Foundations turns those habits into a repeatable workflow; Agents and Workflows then hands that workflow to an agent and teaches you to direct, bound and review its work. Take them in this order: each one assumes the last.

Before you start, Stanford context: Stanford's covered OpenAI service is ChatGPT Edu. The Standard tier is free for active faculty, students, postdocs and staff, approved for high-risk data and PHI, and includes ChatGPT Work and Codex. Request your account on ChatGPT Edu at Stanford and check eligibility in the ChatGPT Edu FAQs before you start: the courses expect a ChatGPT account and a real work task to practise on.
